‘Living Laboratories’ (Living Labs) are an increasingly well-established approach for fostering innovation through collaboration and co-creation. In contrast to a traditional laboratory, a Living Lab operates in a real-life context and is focused on addressing the real needs of the people that participate in it. Living Labs are very good for solving complex challenges that are very hard for one single person to solve.
This Work Package used the Living Lab methodology to develop and test new and improved farm advisory tools and services in six contrasting circumstances in Norway, Latvia, Romania, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands / Belgium. The project partners were trained to host, facilitate and monitor the Living Lab in these countries. Each of the 6 Living Labs was unique to the specific characteristics and dynamics of its local and national context.
