WP5- Integrate Assessment, Lessons Learned and Recommendations

The main WP5 objective is to perform an integrated assessment of the data collected and lessons learned in WP2, 3, 4 and 5.

Work Package Leaders: Boelie Elzen (WR) and Jaroslav Prazan (EKOT)

The AgriLink project generated a great amount of research results (including quantitative and qualitative data), especially from Work Packages 2, 3 and 4. The task of this Work Package was to integrate and analyze all of these research results in order to identify the key lessons learned during the project and then to formulate policy recommendations based upon these lessons learned.

A specific methodology was developed for this work that involved both desk-based work and a series of interactive workshops with farmers and advisors in all partner countries.

The final recommendations were embedded in the context of preparations for the 2023-2027 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the need for farm advisory services to play a much greater role in supporting transition towards a more sustainable and climate-smart agriculture.  Final outputs of this Work Package included:

  • Good examples and best practices for well-connected and effective farm advisory systems
  • Recommendations for improving the performance and effectiveness of advisory services
  • Suggestions for improved governance models and related public policy mechanisms
